Stephen Beale served three years as a translation consultant for the Motalava New Testament Project in Vanuatu. He is now back in Vanuatu, where he is preparing to run a three-month workshop on Tanna Island.
Our Work in Vanuatu
At least five languages are spoken in Tanna and Steve hopes to have representatives from each language attend the workshop.
The aim of the workshop is to create dictionaries and grammars for each of the languages represented and to create the first translations of the Old Testament narrative sections in these languages.
Steve is currently preparing materials and methodologies for the workshop, finalizing the semantic representation of the Old Testament story section, and raising funds for expenses related to travel, meals, and lodging for workshop participants.
